Virginia Henry

Program Coordinator

Virginia Henry has been a Member of the Educators’ Cooperative since 2020, when she joined Cohort 5 in the midst of the Covid19 pandemic for the year’s online Summer Workshop. At a time of extreme isolation and turmoil, she found connection, inspiration, and friendship through EdCo.

Virginia has an M.F.A in Creative Writing and a Tennessee Licensure and Social Studies Education Endorsement. She has served as curricular lead at both independent and charter schools and has taught reading and writing across all sectors to middle, high, community college, and university students.

With 10+ years of teaching experience, she believes in the power of teacher autonomy and intellectual agency. Virginia is now on “sabbatical,” focusing on the early childhood development of her own daughter! She is honored to use this flexible time to serve Nashville’s teachers through the facilitation of Programs like EdCo Exchange, Monthly Coffee, and Book Study.
